2005 beat the Heat

Slope Day 2006April 17 Slope Day: Big Air on the Top of Sheba Crater

Several Flagstaff Flyers and a group from Phoenix enjoyed BIG slope conditions on the top of Sheba Crater. Winds started out in the high 20's and 30's that morning and grew stronger as the day progressed. We had a few measured gusts close to 60 mph! There was a lot of intense combat flying and some acrobatic fun as folks "danced" under the limbo line.

April 18th Slope Soaring Day at Sheba Crater
Slope Day 2004, photo by Durwood ClineClub members met last Sunday morning at the Sheba Crater flying site for some slope soaring. However the brisk SW winds died out by the time most people showed up. Bill and Dawson got there early and got in a couple good flights. We had a few Zagi's up for a while. Once the wind died, Bill and Roger flew their electrics and others bungie launched their gliders. There were thermals brewing and if you could find one good flights were to be had. Some folks went back to the club field and did some power flying.
